Marian was born on the 10th of August 1989 in the Czech Republic and despite only picking up a camera for the first time in 2010, he’s fast making quite a name for himself. In 5 years time he has seen and photographed some of the most prestigious rallies and car events all over the world. What started out as fun, rapidly turned into a fulltime job for this young law student.
Marian got his first camera as a Christmas present a few years ago, to take pictures of his brother racing. This was exactly what he needed to trigger his photography skills. After going to the Dakar Rally for the first time in 2010 and then shooting landscapes the next 2 months on Iceland, it turned out Mr. Chytka has a natural talent for photography.
After working little over a year at a law agency, he decided to quit his job and focus on photography only. And rightly so! Since 2011 he has been shooting reports at some of the most prestigious motor sports events in the world: the Dakar Rally and MXON among others.
Travelling from event to event, having to keep up with tough deadlines, Marian chooses to maximise his production time and limit the post-production. It’s not a secret Marian edits every photo he takes, but he always tries to keep the base of the image the same.
“I usually don’t spend more than one minute editing a photo.”
Motor sports have always been the main theme in Chytka’s photography. Even when he’s revisiting locations, he still succeeds to find new spots and work in a different way with the landscapes. The perfect Marian mix? The combination of landscape and sports photography all rolled into one. Never bored, never tired and always on the road, that’s what Marian Chytka’s life is all about.
